My father F. Norman Cornell was a professional photographer, who for many years took photos of families back in the black and white photo era. He became well known for his large photos in color that were transferred onto canvas, making the appearance of an “oil painting.” The best way to compare this style is similar to the extra large photos you’d find in a board room or in a large lobby. He also loved taking photos of nature. He was my biggest influence in the photography world.
I fell in love with capturing and sharing moments of sunsets, sports, and nature as well. I have photographed and videoed many sunsets from around the world, and have a developing gallery website of sunsets and nature.
There are currently 3 of my sunset videos that have been given to senior centers, hospices, and hospitals.
These movie shorts have also appeared on television at various times since 2018.
I am happy to see the wonderful enjoyment and healing they bring to people of all ages. There will be many more photography and filming projects on the way.
I had the opportunity to be one of two cameramen that filmed the “Triple Crown” of surfing on the north shore.
31 days of surfing at 3 different beaches including Sunset beach, Haleiwa beach, and the famous Pipeline waves. It was the real beginning of filming live feed world-wide in the surfing world. There were several countries represented with pro surfers.
We covered a multitude of countries, and millions of viewers tuned into the stream over the period of three events. I also did the live filming and interviewing of people from all over the world that had come to watch these incredible surfers, and interviewed the international surfers that were there competing. I then went on to be a freelance videographer, filming surfers on various adventure trips.
My photography world continues to this day.
